Settings and shortcuts
Open the settings
Click in the header or press Ctrl+,. The menu lists Account, Profiles, LLM, Language and Advanced; Advanced holds Audio, Appearance, Shortcuts, Updates, Chat history and Privacy & permissions. Leaving with unsaved changes asks first, on the card You have unsaved changes: Back to Settings keeps you there, Discard drops the changes and Save keeps them. At the bottom of the menu, (tooltip "Save", with its keys) keeps your changes and beside it (tooltip "Discard changes") drops them. Language and Appearance are described below. Profiles, Audio, the screenshot settings, Chat history, Privacy & permissions and the plans in Account are explained on the pages for what they do: Your profiles, Listening, In screenshots and screen sharing, Rewind, summary and history, Install and sign in and Plans and credits.
- at the bottom of the menu (tooltip "Discard changes") drops what you changed
- beside it (tooltip "Save") keeps your changes
- the bar along the bottom of the panel shows this arrow when you point at it (tooltip "Collapse"); a click collapses the panel to the smaller view
Interface and call language
Settings, then Language holds every language setting. In its Interface section, Interface language is the language of the app's own words: English, Українська, Русский, Deutsch, Español, Français, 日本語, Polski, Svenska, 简体中文, 한국어 or Português. Same as the system (the default) follows your system's language when it is one of these, else English. It changes as soon as you save, with no restart, and a call keeps going; the plan cards follow the next time you open the settings.
- Interface language (Same as the system): the language of the app's own words; it changes as soon as you save
- Call language (English): speech is heard in this language and the answers are written in it; under Automatic, where offered, the language is detected from what is said
- Quick-switch language (None): the second language the Switch language key toggles to, until you quit; the row shows only while Call language is a language you picked, and Change the key in its note opens Shortcuts
In the Call section, Call language is the language the call is heard in and the hints are written in: English by default, or Automatic where the app can detect it; see Languages. Quick-switch language (None by default) shows only while Call language is a language you picked: the Switch language key, Ctrl+Alt+K unless you changed it, toggles speech recognition and the hints between the two until you quit; see A second language. Its note names the key, and Change the key in it opens Shortcuts. While Call language is Automatic, an info box right under it says where Automatic stands. Where it is offered: Automatic detects the call's language with the app's speech, hosted or on this computer, and answers from the hosted model. Where it is not, why: a speech service with your own key, or answers from your own provider, with a link to the Speech-to-text or LLM settings and a word that such a service may not support every language; otherwise, that Automatic needs the app's speech and answers from the hosted model.
- The info box, shown only while Call language is Automatic: where Automatic stands, either that it detects the call's language with the app's speech, hosted or on this computer, and answers from the hosted model, or why it is not available here
Opacity and position
Settings, then Advanced, then Appearance opens on Visibility: how see-through the window, its text and its images are. The four sliders show their effect at once while you move them, and only Save keeps it. at the right of the Visibility title (tooltip "Reset visibility to defaults (80 / 70 / 100 / 85 %)") puts the four back; it works only while one of them differs from its default.
- at the right of the Visibility title (tooltip "Reset visibility to defaults (80 / 70 / 100 / 85 %)") puts the four sliders back; it works only while one of them differs from its default
- Window, 40 to 100 % (80): how see-through the whole window is
- Window in click-through, 20 to 100 % (70): how see-through the window is while your clicks pass through it
- Chat text, 40 to 100 % (100): how see-through the text of the messages is
- Chat images, 40 to 100 % (85): how see-through the pictures in the chat are; a click still opens one at full strength
The last row of Visibility, In screenshots and screen sharing (on Linux, Hide the Linux screen-capture notice), and the Screenshots section under it are described in In screenshots and screen sharing. The Window section comes last. Position is Centre (the default) or Last position, where you left the window; some desktops place windows themselves, and then it does nothing. Open on, under it, picks the monitor the window opens on (the main monitor by default); it applies only with Centre, so it is hidden while Position is Last position. Both apply at the next start.
Updates
Settings, then Advanced, then Updates shows the Version you run, to quote in a support request. By default the app looks for a new version when it starts; every download is checked against the release's signed manifest. See An update is needed for the prompts.
- Version: the version of the app you run
- Check for updates at startup (on): looks for a new version when the app starts
- Install updates automatically (off): a version found at startup is installed and the app restarts, never during a call
Keyboard shortcuts
The Ctrl+Alt shortcuts work from anywhere, even while the window is hidden or another app is focused. On macOS, use Control+Option instead of Ctrl+Alt, and Command instead of the other Ctrl keys. These are the defaults; in the header shows them in the window:
The italic notes under the list name limits that come from the system, not the app: see Known limits.

The window moves are left out under native Wayland, whose compositor places the window. The shortcuts pause while a window that runs as administrator, such as Task Manager, has focus: see Known limits.
Change a shortcut
In Settings, then Advanced, then Shortcuts, click a field and press the new keys. A shortcut needs Ctrl, Alt or Cmd, or a function key. Backspace unbinds a shortcut and Esc cancels the change. inside the end of a field (tooltip "Reset") restores that shortcut, and at the right of the title (tooltip "Restore all default shortcuts") restores all of them. A change applies as soon as you save. Ctrl+Q with the window focused, and the close button, always quit and cannot be changed.
- at the right of the Global shortcuts title (tooltip "Restore all default shortcuts") puts every shortcut back
- Quit (Ctrl+Alt+Q): quits from anywhere. A field takes the new keys when you click it and press them; inside its end (tooltip "Reset") puts that one back

On Windows, with many European keyboard layouts, AltGr counts as Ctrl+Alt, so typing a character such as @ can trigger a shortcut; pick keys your layout does not use with AltGr. On Linux the shortcuts are physical keys, and AltGr never counts as Ctrl+Alt. On Linux, the shortcuts need your user in the input group; see Troubleshooting.
